1. Decor Decisions

Do you ever see a decoration that you absolutely love, but it’s the wrong color? I do. All the time it seems. And sometimes I go ahead and buy the decor piece because it’s so cute. But later on I get buyers remorse.

Lately instead of buying and trying to make it work later …I find specific items I need to fit into a space. It makes it much more challenging to find a piece that belongs. I’m not going to lie…..

So this year when I started thinking about my Christmas displays I knew I wanted to have some white village buildings and I wanted them to be inexpensive.

The Plan

I headed off to Walmart and found a few for less than $2 each. I got a few + some white spray paint and then headed home.

There is literally no prep work. Other than using Vaseline on the pieces you don’t want to change. (The trees. Garland. Wreaths, etc). I take out some Vaseline on my finger and rub those parts down.

This project I wanted to see how a copper house would look but grabbed the wrong color so it didn’t turn out how I wanted. No big deal. I just sprayed white all over it. After it dried to the touch I took a paper towel and wiped the parts with Vaseline and like magic the tree and the wreath and garland was green again!

Can’t wait to see if you decide it pain them this year. And if so please let me know what you come up with. You can find me here on Instagram  https://www.instagram.com/tribeofburton
